Enjoy postcard-perfect riverside views from almost every window at this home-from-home getaway nestled in an elevated spot on the banks of the River Yealm estuary in the pretty village of Newton Ferrers, just moments from the hustle and bustle of Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City.

After a long day exploring your surroundings, unwind on the cosy sofa in the light-filled lounge/diner and enjoy the panoramic serene scenes of the River Yelm peacefully following through the estuary. As day turns to dusk, enjoy the ultimate family film night around the Smart TV before planning tomorrow’s adventure seated around the dining table. Before bedtime, grab the local produce you’ve collected and head into the contemporary kitchen/diner to rustle up a hearty feast. When you can’t resist the call of bedtime any longer, head upstairs to choose between two beautifully presented bedrooms with breathtaking views over the estuary, or a third cosy bedroom to retire to for a well-earned rest. Indulge in your stunning riverside views by throwing open the patio doors and dining alfresco on the patio to catch the most stunning sunsets melting over the estuary.

Surrounded by ancient woodland and creeks, the village of Newton Ferrers sits on the banks of the beautiful Yealm estuary and provides an idyllic setting to explore on foot, by bike or with your four-legged friend. Situated within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, discover Newton Creek, a narrow tidal inlet on the River Yealm, to acquaint yourself with the true natural beauty of the area; cross the river to Noss Mayo (1.5 miles) and enjoy a peaceful stroll through some pretty woodland to Cellar Beach 3 miles away. A beautiful house with gorgeous views. Lots of steps, but I'm sure they made us a bit fitter. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. We particularly enjoyed our coffee on the balcony, in the morning. Parking wasn't great nearby, as it was high season, but we always found somewhere to park up the road. Lovely booRead moreks to read and a beautiful cream tea on our arrival. Thank you. Just another note: the roads around that area are extremely narrow. Drive slowly. Hide

The location is calm and peaceful making this a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery all around. Hide

A well appointed house with an exceptional view of the Yealm estuary. There are 46 steps up from the road but good hand rails and worth the climb. It is a very comfortable house, very clean and well stocked kitchen and good bed linen. There are many options for discovering the area without moving your car. Good pubs including across the creek in NoRead moress Mayo. Peter and Catherine are lovely hosts. Hide
