Located on the border of Devon and Cornwall, this classic cottage holiday is the ideal accommodation for those seeking beautiful walks, wildlife spotting and plenty of wonderful beach days. Up to four guests are welcome at this stunning stone-built retreat which has a wood burner and many skylights.

This attractive barn is located on the owner’s working farm and is bursting with original features, adding to its cosy atmosphere. After a day out exploring, everyone can gather in the lounge to stretch out and relax in the comfort of the wood burner while the group’s chef prepares dinner. The kitchen/diner is the perfect place to cook up a storm with the local produce you picked up earlier in the day, while the dining table comfortably houses all four guests with ease. Once dinner is finished, throw open the French doors from the living room and bring the outside in, no matter the weather. An amazing cottage, very comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. There is ample space for a party of 4 and the fact that there are two bathrooms was also welcome. Water was always very hot. The garden is lovely and it was great to meet the donkeys! The location is excellent for exploring the N Devon coast, only 6 miles to Bude. The WaitrRead moreose in Holsworthy is also very handy 4 miles. Holsworthy Brewery is a trek but worth it! I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage. 5 stars Hide

The Merchants Granery is a great base for a devon/cornwall holiday. The barn was spacious, clean and cosy with everything supplied for a comfy stay. Being a working farm meant we saw sheep (and donkeys!) being herded past our garden gate regularly. The sheep dogs came to the garden gate daily to be fussed over too. Our hosts were a lovely couple wiRead moreth plenty of local knowledge. When we broke down for 2 days Gillian even offered to take us food shopping and offered a lift to collect car parts Hide
