This stunning barn conversion is in an idyllic setting surrounded by Devon countryside and makes the perfect retreat for you and your friends or family, including your four-legged family member. Located in the pretty village of Ashwater, with its local inn and village shop, there are some enjoyable walks right on your doorstep through Cookworthy Forest and Abbeyford Woods. The popular coastal resort of Bude is only 12 miles away and offers a great family day out with plenty of shops, cafes and not forgetting its wide sandy beach, coastal walks and sea pool.

The barn has been lovingly furnished with contemporary styling and luxurious features. The reverse-style layout takes advantage of the gorgeous views, as you step inside via the deck to the stunning light-filled open-plan living space. Kick back on the plush seating to play a game or watch the Smart TV, cook up a feast in the kitchen, with a Range cooker and wine fridge, and enjoy it together at the dining table. There’s also a WC on this floor, then you go downstairs to bed for the evening in the two stunning bedrooms, a beautiful Master where you can watch the Smart TV in the king-size four poster bed, and a pretty king/twin bedroom with dual aspect windows and gorgeous wooden beams. There’s also a stunning ground floor shower room with a large walk-in shower and underfloor heating. Heading outside, enjoy drinks and dinner al fresco on the enclosed decked area.

Explore the local area on beautiful walks nearby or head to Cookworthy Forest (7 miles) and Abbeyford Woods (18 miles). Have a family day out in Bude (16 miles) visiting the sandy beach and sea pool, going on coastal walks, and popping to the cafes and shops. Have a thrilling day at the activity centre at Roadford Lake (4 miles) where you can try canoeing, abseiling, and paddle boarding and stroll around the lake.

  • If guests are staying for one/two weeks or more, there is a 1 ½ acre dog walking paddock which can be used free of charge during specific hours- please ask owners’ permission as sometimes there are sheep in the field. Staying for less than a week please see owners for availability. The field is fenced but we recommend you assess the fencing yourself before letting your dog(s) off lead.

Goose Barn is a delightful holiday stay. Beautifully decorated and equipped. Felt relaxed from the start to the end of our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Sue & Chris. Sitting on the decking looking over the countryside was wonderful. Had a fabulous time, thank you x

The kitchen was thoughtly planned out, and had all the equipment and more that you would need to cook a meal. The bathroom was luxurious and the bed in the main bedroom was huge and very comfortable. It was everything you could possible want or need for a relaxing holiday. The location was great for us too
