Escape with your loved ones to this delightful, 200-year-old fisherman's cottage sitting in a car-free area in the heart of the coastal town of Brixham. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it's the perfect accommodation choice for small families or groups of friends who want to enjoy a tranquil getaway in Devon together. During the day, hit the coastal trails and soak up the panoramic views from Berry Head Nature Reserve. There are some wonderful scenic walks along the cliffs, and you're sure to spot guillemots, razorbills or dolphins. In the evening, come home to unwind with a glass of wine in the courtyard while admiring the pretty views over the town.

Enter this peaceful hideaway and you'll be welcomed by a spacious open-plan lounge/dining area. Take a moment to relax in the lounge area, which features a quaint exposed brick wall with a characterful wood burner, before heading to the sleek kitchen to whip up something delicious for dinner. Gather everyone around the compact dining table for dinner, or head outside to enjoy an al fresco meal in the charming courtyard. After dinner, warm your toes in front of the crackling wood burner in the lounge area. At the end of the day, head to the first floor and you'll find a smart space that can potentially be used for a travel cot, or as an extra sleeping area for the little ones. Adjacent to that you'll find a contemporary-style family bathroom with a shower cubicle and WC. Along the hall, there's a double bedroom with an ornamental fireplace and views of the harbour. There's also a pull-out bed in that room to accommodate an additional guest. Head to the second floor via the narrow cottage-style stairs and you'll find a double room with a zip-and-link king-size bed (which can be turned into a twin on request) and uninterrupted harbour views.

Head off on a leisurely stroll to Brixham Harbour (1 mile). Walk along the promenade, watch the fishing boats come and go and visit the Golden Hind Museum Ship - a replica of Sir Francis Drake's famous galleon. Alternatively, relax at Shoalstone Beach (1 mile) - a picturesque spot for sunbathing and swimming.

First time at Saltys Cottage, been to Brixham before, we love it. Lovely little dog friendly cottage close to the harbour. Having a parking spot is perfect and its only a few steps away too. Very well equipped and the new bed in the top bedroom is very comfortable, many a lie in was had !! Our teenage son loved the egg chair in the courtyard. So clRead moreose to all the local restaurants, bars and shops, no need to move the car especially if you use the ferry services. We will definitely be back. Hide

Such a pretty cottage, charmingly decorated and with great communication from owner before and during our stay. Walking distance from Brixham Harbour and many very local attractions, plus gorgeous walks on the doorstep. Highly recommended!

Amazing cottage, true to word, have been let down before with information, yet everything we were told we had, information throughout from owners with regards to the water supply, of breakout that happened at our stay, could not fault all correspondence and advice. Have booked to return in November this year.

This home is beautiful! Central to the harbour and shopping centre. Lovely walks to the beach. The parking is ample around surrounding streets, and free. The lounge was so cosy we stayed in most rainy days and relaxed by the log burner. The kitchen is full of equipment and leads to a beautiful courtyard with a view of the town.
