Make your way up the steep cottage-style staircase to the attractive king-size bedroom where you can drift off to sleep to the sound of a nearby waterfall tumbling down to the sea. The compact double room also offers gorgeous sea views and shares the family bathroom. Outside, there is a low wall separating the front lawn from a babbling stream.
From the cottage, you can take a stroll along the beach (300 metres) and explore the abandoned lime kilns, rusty winches and the rocky spit said to be built by the devil. Venture into Clovelly and discover its cobbled streets and fishermen’s cottages (5 miles) or take a fishing trip from the harbour. For those with a passion for surfing, Westward Ho! (9 miles) and its beautiful stretch of golden sand awaits. Alternatively, you can take a boat trip to the wild and beautiful Lundy Island, located just off the coast of Bideford (9 miles).
