This cosy, one-bedroom barn conversion is a delightful romantic retreat for two, in a very peaceful location with fabulous views over rolling countryside. Set out on picturesque walks from your front door, or spend days out at the well-loved coastal towns nearby before returning to this beautiful bolthole and relaxing in the private garden.

Inside, the barn has been lovingly restored to offer an excellent standard of accommodation with stylish furnishings and décor. On the ground floor is an open-plan living space with a cosy wood burner and space for four people to dine. Behind a partition, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, while handy washing facilities are housed in an understairs cupboard. The bathroom is also found on this floor. Upstairs, the mezzanine floor, which formerly was used to drop bales of hay to feed the animals below, is now a lovely light living area with a comfortable sofa and leather rocking chair and leads onto the bedroom – a peaceful double room. Please note there is reduced head height on this level. In the morning, wake up refreshed and take your coffee to the garden where there’s a sun lounger sofa and a table and chairs for al fresco breakfasts.

This cottage enjoys a rural location, with the nearest village being Cornworthy, 1 mile away. Many popular South Devon towns are within easy reach. Visit maritime Dartmouth (7.5 miles) with its lovely cafes, stylish shops and boutiques. Head north and you'll reach the market town of Totnes (6 miles), which sits further upstream on the River Dart. Alternatively, spend your days relaxing on the beaches of the beautiful South Devon coastline – the amazing beaches at Slapton (9 miles) and Blackpool Sands (7 miles) are well worth the drive.

Really lovely, cosy and spacious cottage in a great setting. The mezzanine sitting room and large bedroom especially appreciated with a king size bed long enough for me at 6ft 3ins. The local Hunter's Lodge has great food and beer, less than a mile away (but a steep walk back up to the cottage). Daynes Farm Shop, nearby, has fantastic organic beefRead more, lamb, pork and goat meat - well worth a visit. Most of our meals used their meat! Local steam trains and boat trips really good and a visit to Agatha Christie's home at Greenway is essential. Hide

A lovely cottage, comfortable and well equipped. Bathroom was a great size, which so often is not the case in holiday properties. Lots of things were really thought about and left for the holidaymakers to use. It is very remote, but that is my fault for not looking into the location better.
