  • This is a great holiday home for families and couples alike

Property code: OC-BC1109

This unique and luxurious cottage is in a stunning position overlooking Torbay. Only half a mile from the award-winning Meadfoot Beach, and boasting refined, characterful accommodation with 180-degree sea views, this is the perfect holiday home for families and couples alike.

Formerly an 18th-century coastguard’s cottage, this property has been completely refurbished to provide a luxurious, modern space in which to relax and enjoy the captivating setting. On the ground floor is an entrance lobby, a spacious living room with sea views, a dining room with a fireplace and a new, well-equipped kitchen, together creating lovely spaces in which to relax amidst the opulent décor after a day’s adventure. A modern bathroom is also on this floor. Up the stairs on the first floor are the property’s three luxurious bedrooms, two benefiting from panoramic sea views, and all are decorated in neutral tones for a relaxing night’s sleep. In the morning, wake up refreshed and step outside to the front terrace where you can enjoy a coffee as you soak up the sea views. There is also a fully enclosed courtyard garden at the rear, perfect for al fresco dining.

Directly in front of the property is the 7-acre ‘Daddyhole Plain’ park which is perfect for children. The South West Coast Path passes in front of the plain, making the cottage an ideal location for walkers. Popular Torquay attractions including The Riviera Wheel, Beacon Cove and the iconic harbourside are all less than 1 mile away; the harbourside houses an eclectic mix of restaurants, shops and tourist museums. The English Riviera is a designated UNESCO Global Geopark, one of only seven in the UK and just 140 worldwide, as it has 32 individual geological sites, covering three geological time periods, all within a compact area. To find out more, a visit to the amazing Kents Cavern, just over 1 mile away in Wellswood, is a great place to start.

Had a great time, the house is in a great position, clean and comfortable. Parking was a struggle outside the property, but there is plenty of parking near by. The Meadfoot beach cafe was great. The costal walks were fabulous. Take shampoo, shower gel etc.

Fabulous week in a beautiful peaceful cottage! A real home from home, was super comfortable for us as a family and we will definitely return. Having the field and sea view out the front door is a real bonus, especially with young children and dogs!

Beautifully renovated cottage. It is well maintained and had everything we needed for a really relaxing holiday. The location is excellent, views of the bay from the patio. Lovely beach and cafe close by in one direction and town centre just a 15 minute walk in the other. Dogs enjoyed meeting new friends every day on Daddyhole Plain!

The cottage was very clean well equipped and a nice welcome pack for us. Its so quiet and peaceful at night. Nice not to get woken up by anything. Very comfortable beds and nice bathroom. It is at the top of a large hill. So you need to be able to walk well.

This is a lovely completely renovated cottage in a quiet location in Torquay close to nice walks and a fab beach (& cafe) at Meadfoot. It has a very comfortable lounge and lovely terrace. The parking is a little bit tight out the front - that said theres lots of parking just round the corner. Worth noting that there is no upstairs loo just in case Read morethat is important to guests. A lovely cottage in an amazing location. Bedrooms are good a size and its well decorated throughout. The living area was smaller than I initially thought and could be a squeeze for a family with teenage children. The management of the property was poor. The washing machine broke whilst we were on holiday, with a load of washing stuck in the drum. Read moreLittle support was given to help rectify the situation in a timely fashion. However, text messages and follow up emails from original cottages reminding us of our leaving time kept on coming with no regard to the washing machine and our clothes being trapped! I have had no response from the management company to my email sent. I do think I was unlucky , and prior to this situation occurring all was going well. Hide

Excellent location in the heart of Daddyhole plain and a 15 min walk into town. Brilliant renovation of the old coastguard cottages. Private parking available for one car in a narrow road but plenty of parking in nearby roads for a second car if required.
