Located in the heart of the historic quarter of the Lynton, close to a variety of independent shops, cafes and pubs, this cosy and attractive 19th-century cottage is a lovely base for couples to enjoy the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth. Compact yet thoughtfully designed, this delightful stone cottage combines character charm with modern style.
In a small pedestrian area of the village, this peaceful cottage is laid out over three floors accessed by steep staircases and featuring low thresholds characteristic of its age, and with a room on each floor. On the ground floor, a good quality kitchen/diner has an ample range of units and is equipped with all you would need for cooking up a delicious meal with Exmoor produce. Stairs lead up to a very comfortable living room where you can unwind in front of the wood burner and soothe tired feet after a day of hill walks. On the top floor, the staircase opens out into a compact double room (access only on one side of the bed) with en-suite facilities. While there is no outdoor space at this property, the national park is virtually on your doorstep.
This popular Exmoor village has plenty of places to eat and drink, as well as its very own cinema (300 metres), and is surrounded by spectacular countryside. Breathtaking coast, country and riverside walks are easily accessible, with abundant wildlife including wild goats in the Valley of Rocks (1 mile), red deer and Exmoor ponies in the surrounding countryside. The twin village of Lynmouth (0.5 miles) with its riverside walks, harbourside pubs and restaurants, and large manor green overlooking the sea is linked by road, exhilarating footpath or the famous Victorian, water-powered cliff railway (500 metres). Further afield, the golden surfing beaches around Woolacombe are around 20 miles away.
