Brixham has a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants, making it one of the most popular spots on the South Devon coast; this cottage puts you at the heart of it all, with the centre within 400 metres. Further afield, Torquay (8.5 miles) was a favourite of the Victorian era with grand regency crescents lined with townhouses. Today, it has a vibrant waterfront with its marina and harbour – stroll along the palm-lined promenade and visit the seafront gardens. Paignton Zoo (5.5 miles) is well regarded for its wildlife conservation efforts with an impressive collection including a Komodo dragon. Or, head inland and explore the Dartmoor National Park (18 miles) with its tors and myriad walking trails.
