Lying in an idyllic valley, this characterful property makes a tranquil holiday retreat for larger families and groups of friends seeking a peaceful getaway close to the glorious North Devon coast and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Offering elegant accommodation for up to eight guests, the stylishly updated property sits by the edge of the East Lyn River and enjoys lovely rural views of a breathtaking corner of Exmoor National Park. Sitting on the edge of the quaint harbour village of Lynmouth, this beautiful hideaway occupies three floors and features a cheery wood burner, timber beams, vaulted ceilings and stable doors.

Entering the cottage you will find a pretty lounge with a wood burner, TV and plenty of seating, perfect for everyone to unwind in at the end of a memorable day. The fresh, inviting open-plan kitchen/diner has underfloor heating and a vaulted, beamed ceiling with an additional seating area and Smart TV. The dining table is particularly suited to enjoying celebratory meals which you can enjoy cooking in the sleek and stylishly arranged kitchen. Upstairs you will find four light and cosy bedrooms, each with a handy TV: there’s a lovely en-suite king-size room and a charming twin on the first floor, with a relaxing en-suite double and a comfortable super-king-size room on the second floor. The main bathroom is on the half-landing. Stepping outside, the pretty patio is a wonderful spot for sitting back and taking in the beautiful rural vistas as the river flows past.

Local attractions include the famous Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway and the National Trust property at Watersmeet, both within 2 miles. Exploring Exmoor National Park, keen walkers can visit numerous sites including the Valley of Rocks, Heddon Valley, Porlock Weir, Watermouth Castle, Webbers Post, Cow Castle and Exmoor Zoo, all within 16 miles.

This is our second stay at Mariners which tells you all you need to know! The cottage is well equipped, very comfortable, spacious and perfectly located. Walk out of the front door and you're already on the banks of the River Lyn. Turn left and take the riverside path through the valley to Watersmeet where you can enjoy a coffee and/or cream tea byRead more the river or turn right and within a couple of minutes you're in Lynton enjoying the pubs, restaurants and the seaside. If you fancy going nowhere the front terrace is spacious and self-contained so you can let the hound stroll in and out without any worries. Hide

Stayed at mariners, was the most beautiful house equipped with everything we could ask for. Location was perfect and the welcome goodies in the kitchen was a lovely thoughtful gift.

This house is very spacious and was also super clean. it is very well organised and we had a lovely family holiday. the surrounding landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. You can go to beaches and also have long walks in the woods. I would highly recommend this house.

A beautiful cottage with a wonderful loving, historic atmosphere. The views of the river and hills are stunning. Opening the bedroom window and feeling the majesty of the hills and lifeforce of the river will stay with me forever. Breakfast on the terrace, watching the water caressing the rocks and the rising sun lighting up the hills was utterRead morely idyllic. Although it was Autumn, the cottage was warm in temperature as well as atmosphere. We had everything we could wish for within and without the cottage. The location is perfect for exploring the beauty of Exmoor and the roads are breathtaking. I truly hope to return one day. A little piece of my heart has been left there. Hide

A really great stay with the family - what a fabulous location, lovely garden to sit outside and have a few drinks listening to the waterfalls. There was freshly baked lemon cake, bottle of wine, biscuits and milk upon arrival which made for a lovely surprise.
