This beautifully converted chapel is situated in the heart of the unspoilt Exmoor village of Withypool and sits in a slightly elevated position which allows wonderful views over the valley of the River Barle as well as views of the Exmoor countryside. Withypool benefits from a post office and village stores, tea rooms and a character 17th Century country inn. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walkers, with many beautiful walks that can be enjoyed directly from the village. The Two Moors Way passes through Withypool, and there is a 9-mile circular route to the renowned Tarr Steps as well as other riverside, moorland and country walks that offer spectacular views. Many local beauty spots are within a short scenic drive, including Landacre Bridge (4 miles) which is ideal for picnics, the rugged coastline where Exmoor meets the sea, and picturesque villages including Dunster (15 miles), Dulverton (8 miles), Lynton (18 miles), Lynmouth (16.5 miles) and Porlock (12 miles).
The cottage is accessed by a few steps from the village lane and the front door opens into a large hallway with a slate tiled floor and wood panelling. A spacious lounge offers an attractive and cosy retreat with a wood burner set in a feature fireplace, providing a comfortable space no matter what the season. A country style kitchen/diner is very well-equipped offering everything you will need to prepare a meal for family and friends, and an external door leads out to a small, fully enclosed patio and utility area. On the first floor, three attractive bedrooms each offer river and countryside views. The master king-size bedroom has dual aspect views and benefits from an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom is a king-size and the third is a twin bedroom. Completing this floor is a family bathroom. There is an additional WC on the ground floor making this is an ideal cottage for couples wishing to holiday together or families looking for those extra facilities.
The small, fully enclosed patio is a delightful outside space to relax in and has a table and chairs, so you can enjoy your morning coffee or some al fresco dining.
