Property code: OC-JBPIO1

Set in a quiet area, this two-bed apartment offers tranquility within easy striking distance of the quaint centre of Beer, with all its amenities and shingly beach (within 350 metres). Light, modern and equipped with everything you could need, it makes a great holiday escape for a small family, one or two couples keen on exploring this East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Jurassic Coast. Better yet, this retreat has its own private parking space – a rare treat in this bustling coastal village.

This second-floor apartment offers nicely decorated and furnished interiors all on one level. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is practical and fun for families as you can spend time all together or do different things, within the same spacious room. It’s got added character as the ceilings slope with the roofline and dormer-style windows give it a bright and airy feel with comfortable seating, dining furniture and a comprehensive kitchen for self-catered meals. The spacious double and twin bedrooms have good storage and a calming vibe for a good night’s sleep after all that sea air.

It’s not hard to see why Beer remains such a magnet as it’s a relatively unspoilt fishing village that’s full of charm. In the village itself you can shop, watch the fishing boats go out and return to offload their catch, walk along the pebble beach admiring the dramatic cliff backdrop or treat yourself to a fish supper in one of the local eateries. Jubilee Gardens up on the clifftop is a great place for picnics or quiet time. In warmer months, take a tour of the 2,000-year-old Beer Quarry Caves (1 mile), an underground complex made for quarrying the local Beer Stone.

Really. A really nice little apartment ideally located for walks and site seeing the local area. Beer is a lovely little unspoiled village and everyone is so welcoming.

The flat is situated just off the central road of this gorgeous village and was very warm, spacious and comfortable. A nice bathroom and a well equipped kitchen, with a washing machine, was very appreciated. I didn't need it, but it does have a provided car port in a private area behind the flats. The village shop just around the corner, as is the Read morebus stop, and the flat is stone's throw from the beach and coastal paths. The village of Beer is small, beautiful, and full of independent shops and eateries. I enjoyed my stay there. Hide

The location of the apartment was in a lovely spot close to the village centre and beach. Good parking off the roads. The lobby felt a bit like an entrance to a student block. The apartment itself was comfortable and quiet though fairly basic, apart from the cutlery and crockery which were clearly good quality. Most was clean apart from one filthy Read moremug, which happened to be the first I took from the cupboard - a good wash and it was fine, but it made me wash everything before using even though others looked clean. The frying pans had been badly treated by others so wouldn't come clean. The fridge had no freezer compartment, which was surprising. However these are only small things as otherwise it was a nice place to stay and we had a lovely week in Beer. Hide
