This spacious three-bedroom property in Bish Mill, North Devon, is surrounded by countryside yet close to the charming town of South Molton. Beautifully presented and comfortable in design, it is a good choice for families plus two dogs, looking to explore the surrounding landscape.

After a long day exploring, kick off your boots in the utility room and step through to the light and airy kitchen. Well-equipped with modern appliances, rustle up a meal and then dine at the large table overlooking the patio doors. There’s also a handy snug room so the children can unwind with a film while you linger over dinner. The separate lounge is also a comfortable space to sit and chat and there’s even a wood burner to keep things cosy on chillier nights. You’ll also find a lovely bedroom on this floor, featuring twin zip-and-link beds. From the lounge, a staircase sweeps up to the first floor where the remaining two bedrooms are located. Featuring a king-size bed and twin beds, both are a good size and adorned with oak furniture and windows that flood the rooms with plenty of uplifting light. There’s also a family bathroom on this floor. Back on ground level, a huge patio is the perfect spot for a quiet coffee at the garden table. The children can also run free on the extensive lawn and spot rabbits and pheasants in the neighbouring fields.

Take a morning walk along the River Yeo or head to the market town of South Molton (2 miles) and browse the independent shops and market stalls. South Molton is also known as The Gateway to Exmoor and the whole family can enjoy the moors and hills on foot, bike, or horseback. Alternatively, head 13.5 miles to Barnstaple and enjoy a show at the 1930s-style cinema or hire bicycles and explore the Tarka Trail.

Owners were very helpful and communications were prompt and supportive. Welcome package was very generous and well received. Grandchildren absolutely loved the comfy lounge furniture.

Very well equipped which is always good when hosting Christmas dinner for the family. Property had a Christmas tree and wreath which really made a difference. For a dog walk you will need a short drive to the south Molton community woodland as very wet everywhere else.

If you're looking for somewhere to stay with easy access to both the sea and moors then this is for you. The cottage is perfect and will easily support six adults. If you have children, two of the double beds can be split to make two twin rooms. The cottage is generously equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay and the log burnRead moreer at night is very toasty. There is also central heating if you need it. The benefit of off road secure parking for at least 3 medium sized cars is a great asset. A great property for all your needs! Hide

We enjoyed our week at Mill Barn, well placed to explore North Devon and Exmoor , very comfortable, barn garden fully enclosed for dogs who had a great time. Lovely cake and dog treats on arrival

This property was very comfortable and well equipped. The garden was secure for the dog. There was lots of little extras, tea, coffee and cake on arrival including dog treats too. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend Mill Barn

The property was very spacious, we were a family of four adults and one teenager so there was plenty of room for all of us. Also it was very well equipped and the cake and milk was much appreciated so we could have a cup of tea after the long drive. ,

An exceptionally well equipped, clean and comfortable property. A good location for exploring North Devon. The welcome tray, complete with a cake, and milk in the fridge was very well received after a long journey. Would highly recommend this property.

Everything was perfect. The only thing I would suggest (unless we missed it) is that in the colder months perhaps have a grit/salt box available as the patio area outside the front door was extremely slippery on arrival.

The property was lovely. With use of two car ports. The grounds are secure and great for a dog. Pub over road was perfect. Closed Tuesday Wednesday Thursday, in winter. Area great for Golf, Tarka trail, Exmoor.

We have booked through Marsdens many times and always have lovely accommodation. This property was one of the best, beautiful home, everything we needed was there, would stay there again.

Mill Barn is a lovely property on a main road but in a lovely location. I thoroughly recommend the house and will probably return in the future. I can also recommend the local pub Mill Inn, it is a five minute walk and does traditional home made pub grub.
