Situated on the edge of the up-and-coming town of Seaton, within easy reach of the beach, this cottage for three is spacious and cosy at the same time with a lovely wood burner-effect gas fire for those cooler evenings and a garden with a summer house to the rear for warmer times.
Enter into a small lobby where there is hanging space for coats and a shoe stand for outdoor wear. A second doorway opens into the sitting room. The pretty sitting room has a window seat, two two-seater sofas, and a wood burner-effect gas fire surrounded with stone. All this provides a comfortable space to curl up and watch the flames or the Smart TV and DVD player. The whole of the ground floor has wood laminate flooring. Head up two steps into the large ‘L’ shaped kitchen with light wood laminate worktops and white-fronted cupboards above and below. There is plenty of equipment to whip up delicious meals for three, which can be eaten at the dining table. From here, there’s a door to a pretty courtyard garden with a summer house and a table, chairs and parasol – perfect for dining alfresco. The modern bathroom has a bath, an over-bath shower and a WC. Upstairs, there are two carpeted bedrooms: the double bedroom at the front of the property has a window seat which overlooks the countryside beyond, and there’s a second bedroom with a single light pine bed and a matching bedside table and lamp.
If you love the outdoors, you’re in luck as Seaton and the surrounding area have a plethora of walks and places to visit. Seaton Wetlands has 2.5 miles of level trails to follow alongside the River Axe, where you’ll find plenty of wildlife. The East Devon AONB has a varied landscape encompassing woodland, heathland, cliffs and river valleys. There are lots of beaches nearby too, with the pebbles of Seaton Beach just 1 mile away, and Beer Beach and Branscombe Beach just 3 and 6 miles away respectively. If you want a tipple to enjoy in the evening, head to Lyme Bay Winery, just 4 miles away.
