Positioned in a desirable location in the heart of the charming village of Braunton, this delightful 18th-century cottage has been lovingly renovated, blending original features with modern and contemporary styling. It is the ideal cottage in which to relax as a family after a busy day exploring the miles of scenic coastline nearby.

Inside, the cottage blends characterful charm with modern conveniences and boasts stylish yet welcoming décor. The main door opens into a cosy lounge with a stunning fireplace housing a wood burner – perfect for warming your toes after blustery beach walks. The lounge leads onto an inner hallway off which is an impressive wooden staircase to the first-floor accommodation. Beyond the hall is a modern and well-equipped kitchen and open-plan dining area for family meals together. There is a handy butler sink provided for washing out wetsuits and outdoor gear. Open the stable door onto the enclosed garden which is a real suntrap – there is plenty of outdoor seating giving the option of al fresco dining with pretty, outdoor lighting when needed. From the hall, climb the stairs to the two attractive bedrooms – a good size double bedroom and a comfy twin bedroom – which both share the stylish family bathroom with a huge walk-in shower.

Braunton is renowned for its wide selection of cafes, restaurants and independent shops within the village centre, which is only 100 metres from the cottage. If you dream of a holiday by the sea, drive the 3 miles to Saunton Sands which boasts a huge golden beach backed by the sand dunes of Braunton Burrows and is a draw for surfers and dog walkers all year round. The sandy beaches of Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe are all within 7 miles, and there is no shortage of surf shops in the vicinity to hire bodyboards, surfboards and wetsuits.  Parking in nearby car park or on nearby street.

My holiday companion was my adult son who has Down syndrome with associated learning difficulties. It was lovely to spend 2 weeks quality time with him. My son took charge of the remote control(!) and learned how to access YouTube immediately so he could watch his favourite clips. We know the area well as my grandmother lived nearby so I visitedRead more frequently as a child and even attended Caen Primary school briefly. I wanted my children to create similar memories of Saunton Sands, Squires Fish & Chips etc that I had, so we rented cottages in N Devon many times. I must have been successful as they both wanted to visit N Devon as adults. The cottage was so comfortable and warm (we visited at the end of October). It was easy to imagine living there full time. Although parking next to the cottage was not possible, it was not a problem walking the short way to Wrafton Street for free parking. In any case, the cottage was so close to all that central Braunton could offer that we only used the car to go to Saunton Sands. Hide

An excellent property for two adults. We thought it might be a bit cramped with four adults. We found road side parking (2 cars) acceptable.
