This spacious Victorian property has a lovely family atmosphere and has been renovated to a high standard by the current owner whilst still retaining many of the original features. Situated in the heart of Ilfracombe and just a short distance from Tunnels Beaches and the picturesque Ilfracombe harbour, this home from home has excellent facilities for a group of eight.

Arranged over three floors, the accommodation is stylish and opulent, with its many character features adding charm. The main entrance porch has plenty of room for shoes and boots and leads into the beautifully restored hallway. Walk into the spacious living room and draw the blackout curtains for a cinema experience on the large Smart TV. Cook delicious meals in the newly fitted kitchen before enjoying them in the separate dining room, a sociable space with a small snug which children will adore. There is also a compact utility room nearby. The four bedrooms are arranged over the first and second floors, all with their own unique, refined style. They share the decadent bathroom and shower room, both found on the first floor. Once outside, you will find yourself in a walled garden with a pergola and decorative metal bench and decking area, where you can have a BBQ and enjoy a glass of wine while you discuss the day’s adventures. There is also a handy side entrance with an outside tap for hosing down sandy wetsuits and muddy paws.

Ilfracombe has so much to see and do on a group holiday, whether you want to explore the town and harbour area (1 mile), play crazy golf (0.5 miles), take a trip to the aquarium (1 mile), or enjoy a peaceful walk through National Trust land on the Torrs (0.5 miles). Further afield, other popular destinations include the award-winning 3 miles of sandy beach at Woolacombe (6 miles), the famous Hele Bay tea rooms (1.5 miles) and the spectacular Exmoor National Park (4 miles) where you can see the wild ponies up on the moors.

We had a lovely stay for New Year. Week equipped, a nod to Christmas decorations but without being over the top. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Nice to have a separate dinning room. Easy walk to town and the seafront. Arrived to a bottle of bubbles in the fridge, thank you very much.

Property was a little rough around the edges, most of the decoration had been rushed/poor standard ( different colour behind radiators etc) But overall the property was nice. If we had paid 1600/1700 it would have been better value. Also some basics like, sugar, salt, cooking oil etc, would reduce the outlay to make simple meals from home.

House was excellent, exactly what we needed. It was very comfortable and my family really, really enjoyed their stay. No complaints whatsoever.

The house is in a good position, around a 20 minute walk to the harbour for pubs and restaurants. Parking is available on the road but as its August, difficult to find a space. House is very nice and comfortable, with everything you need. The garden is a bit small and the steps are a little precarious! It was nice to be provided with dishwasher tabRead morelets, washing powder, a toilet roll in every toilet and supplies to make a hot drink on arrival, including milk. Added bonus of a Lidl 2 minutes away. I would recommend booking for evening meals as we found we could not get into some of the recommended restaurants. Hide

Lovely spacious house. Nothing was too much trouble from the letting company as in we requested a new BBQ and it was delivered and the bedding and towels were all lovely quality. That said we had a lovely time, and was very sad to leave. Will definitely use Original Cottages again. Thank you.
