Exmoor National Park (7.5 miles) is also wonderful for walking and cycling. Go fishing on the River Exe, visit Bampton (4 miles) for bespoke shops and eateries, have a go at clay pigeon shooting and visit the nearby honey farm. Do a tour and tasting at the local winemakers’ vineyards outside Clayhanger (6 miles), have a day by the river swimming or relaxing at Dulverton (10 miles). Nearby Killerton NT house offers spectacular gardens and a gothic mansion. After a great day out, visit the local pub, where your pup is welcome, for a drink and a hearty meal.
