In the heart of the pretty coastal village of Stoke Fleming, this gorgeous cottage is in the perfect spot for a seaside break. It suits friends or family, with a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, and has several bonus features, like the rolltop bath and high-end kitchen appliances, plus your four-legged friends are welcome to join you here.

You’ll feel at home as soon as you arrive in the cottage, thanks to its relaxed style and nautical touches. Begin your day with a coffee from the Gaggia Coffee Machine sitting at the kitchen island or at the foldable dining table with chairs for four. Relax in the gorgeous, light living area chatting or watching TV, with a stunning exposed brick fireplace and wooden flooring. The delightful Master bedroom is also on the ground floor. Put the radio on and have a good soak in the stunning en-suite bathroom with a rolltop bath and separate shower. Upstairs is a cosy double room with a nautical theme, and a smart shower room. The cottage doesn’t have private outside space but there’s so much outdoors to explore.

Stoke Fleming is on the clifftops in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with amazing views of the coast. It has a pub and restaurant, and there’s a cafe/restaurant and shop at Blackpool Sands (1 mile). The golden sands and surf are ideal for water sports and swimming. From there, explore the stunning coast on the South West Coast Path, which goes through fields, woodland paths, and quiet lanes, and across the headlands. Explore Dartmouth’s (3 miles) narrow cobbled streets packed with fabulous boutique shops, art galleries, and excellent places to eat out. Go on a boat trip on the River Dart or a trip on the steam train (canines are welcome).

This was the perfect location, we enjoyed lots of walks and used the buses. The cottage was beautiful and the added advantage of the village pub and free parking nearby made this a place wed love to stay in again.

Property smelt a little musty on arrival, perhaps it had not been rented for a while. TV system temperamental.

A comfortable property in a great village for us but there was no mention of the additional 8 steps up to the first level at the back of the walk way. Then there is the 7 steps up to the front door (as mentioned in the write up) as well as negotiating taking the cases up to the first floor. Not ideal for 2 single ladies. If we had know this we probRead moreably wouldnt have booked this cottage. Also the lack of towels was disappointing. Only 2 towels per person for a week. The larger of the towels barely wrapped around after a shower. A bath sheet would have been nice. There is also a need for a hand towel to be provided in the kitchen as using the tea towel to dry your hands as well as dry the dishes is hardly hygienic. These issues could easily be solved at very little expense but would make a much more pleasant stay. Loading and unloading was quite stressful as we had to park illegally, on a junction and on a bend - not ideal. Otherwise the cottage had everything else we needed and expected for our stay. Hide
