This spacious family home has period features, elegant decor and spectacular views over the River Dart from its elevated position in Kingswear. Families or groups of friends can wander down to explore the village, take the ferry across to Dartmouth, or simply relax on the decked terrace.
High up above the main road (it’s reached by 32 steps), this beautifully decorated property is appealing both inside and out. After creating special meals in the pretty kitchen, linger in the dining room, which has a very special feel, before strolling across to the lounge, a beautiful room with an ornamental Edwardian fireplace, bay window and velvet sofas where you can snuggle up and enjoy a movie on the Smart TV. Upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite shower room and fabulous views, a king-size with a vaulted ceiling and access to the garden through French windows, and a sweet single. There’s a family bathroom which has a separate bath and shower cubicle. For al fresco dining you can enjoy either the decked area at the front of the house, which has a BBQ and garden furniture, or the steep, terraced garden at the rear. This has wooden steps that lead up to a furnished deck, and further steps to a sweet cabin from which you can relish the wonderful river views.
Charming Kingswear is renowned for its brightly painted houses and prominent castle, and has winding streets, friendly pubs and some spectacular views. From here you can catch a stream train to Paignton or a ferry to the chic coastal town of Dartmouth, with its shops, art galleries and places to eat and drink. The South West Coast Path offers beautiful walks, or it’s a 5.5-mile drive to the National Trust’s Greenway house and garden.
