It’s located 0.5 miles from the harbour in Torquay, with an abundance of restaurants, shops and pubs all within 0.5 miles, as well as a fantastic beach. The house’s elevated position creates outstanding views, while its elegant decor may well make you feel like royalty. Chandeliers, impressive fireplaces and an indulgent standalone bath in the family bathroom – this place has them all!

This property was built in 1876, and features all the charm of a quality Victorian home including high ceilings, sash windows and ornate borders. From the grand entrance hall to the stunning lounge/dining room, every room is like something out of a magazine, with antique furniture and a rich colour scheme contributing further to the opulence. Relax in the evening playing the baby grand piano or watching a film on the Smart TV, or retreating with a book to the library area. The gorgeous country kitchen is a truly magnificent space, with the potential to bring out your inner celeb chef with its roomy layout, traditional larder and double oven. A dining table in the centre is excellent for breakfasts and socialising with the tea flowing. The rear garden offers a wonderful spot for breathing in the fresh Devon air. There’s an elevated decked area boasting pretty views over the adjacent church, and a lawn where children and dogs can play. The views from the front garden are also lovely.

In the immediate area, you can explore historical sights such as the 12th-century Torre Abbey and the prehistoric caves at Kents Cavern (both 1.5 miles). Further afield, we recommend days out in Brixham (9 miles) and Dartmouth (11 miles).

We absolutely loved Vane Hill Crest! What a special, beautiful Victorian home! Gracious and elegant, spacious, full of light, decorated sympathetically but with every modern comfort you could wish for. This home has bags of character and the outside space was also excellent with a private decked area which looks across to the hill leading to BabbacombRead moree in the distance. It was peaceful but only 10 minutes down to the harbour if you didn't mind the shortcut via steep steps. We loved our time there and our grown up children have already asked if we can return which we all agreed we would be happy to do. Great holiday! Hide

A real home from home. Fully equipped to accommodate our group of 10 adults. The views are amazing from the first floor balcony. We all enjoyed the use of the garden meeting for breakfast and dinner. Very close to the harbour and a short walk to Meadfoot beach.

A good comfortable house with plenty of space for a large group of people. Generally well equipped with nice facilities, plenty of hot water and comfy beds. We had no problem parking outside the front of the house.

The house had a lovely homely feel to it. There was so much room for the children to run around and play hide and seek. One of the children described it as the house in Narnia. It was the perfect house for hosting as my daughter and son-in-law who live in Torquay came over for dinner a couple of the evenings. It was one of the nicest staRead moreys we have ever had. Hide

Excellent property, everything you need is there. Only down side was all the steps or steep hill to get to the property if you find walking difficult.

The house was perfect for our family get- together. Plenty of space and well supplied for everyday use. The situation was quiet but you need a car for access to the shops and restaurants. It's a very hilly area. Everyone had a wonderful time.

The kitchen was very well stocked with crockery and glasses and the large fridge/freezer was great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. This is a lovely house with plenty of space for a large family. The location is very quiet and it is well situated with a short walk to the town centre and the sea, although you do need to be prepared for lotsRead more of steps and steep paths. We found plenty to do including a boat trip, coastal walks and a visit to nearby Cockington. We would happily return, thank you Hide

Excellent, beautiful and well equipped property. If you are ok with hills and steep steps to walk up from the town centre. There is a tight corner as you go up the hill to the property. The neighbouring properties were very quiet and the fact that there is a home aa one of them made the street very quiet as well.
