  • Large living area with several different spaces
  • Raised terrace enjoying views over the River Dart

Property code: OC-BC42AB

A tastefully remodelled property with a lush, enclosed lawn and blissful rooftop views across the harbour of Dartmouth. This secluded oasis is a wonderful retreat for young families or couples adventuring along the South Devon Coast with a furry pal. Test your balance as you glide along the rippling River Dart on a SUP session from the waterfront Paddle Shack (600 metres), before popping a chilled bottle of fizz and scoffing nibbles on the glass-fronted terrace.

This striking home expertly blends contemporary design with traditional English elegance. Picture oversized glass doors, airy open-plan living, soft pastel tones, and timeless bay windows. Step into the bright sitting room and peruse the bookshelf or sink onto the sofas with a brew. Venture into the sociable lounge/kitchen/diner and slide open the magnificent glass bifold doors to embrace breezy indoor-outdoor living. Assist the resident chef in rustling up an indulgent dinner in the country kitchen then shake up a selection of pre-dinner drinks on the glossy wooden worktops. Feast around the wooden dining table or step outside for a balmy al fresco supper on the patio. After dinner, stretch out of the corner sofa with something sweet while the little ones play on the lawn. In cooler months, slink away to the snug and bask in the glow of the crackling wood burner. Retire upstairs to find two bedrooms, consisting of a tranquil double and an en-suite twin. Outdoors, enjoy garden games on the grassy lawn, or recline on the hidden rooftop terrace.

Board the charming passenger ferry to Kingswear (1 mile) and amble along the glistening waterfront then settle in for a pub lunch at the hound-friendly inn. Venture through the countryside aboard the Dartmouth Steam Railway (500 metres) or saunter along the emerald cliff-backed shoreline of Blackpool Sands (3 miles).

In the months of May through to November why not attend one of the many local events and festivals in the area like the Dartmouth Music Festival, Dartmouth Royal Regatta, Dartmouth Food Festival, Torbay Air Show, Brixham Pirate Festival, Devon County Show.

Highly recommend staying here. We travelled as a family of four with two young children and we all loved the house and the setting. It was ideally located a short stroll into the main town where there is a fabulous array of shops and restaurants and views of the river. The property was nicely furnished with three different seating areas and magnifiRead morecent views towards the water. The first floor external balcony was a fabulous spot for watching the stem train and boats come in and out of the area. The car parking space was handy too, although set up a hill to the rear. The walking up and down wasnt a problem to us and probably helped burn off the extra calories consumed whilst on holiday. We would definitely recommend the house and the location as a good base to explore the area. Hide

House is in a fantastic location, lots of pubs and shops within a 5 minute walk. Allocated parking space and enclosed garden for the dog were both big pluses. Please note the main bathroom is basically an en suite so you have to walk through the spare room. It has a bath with an attached shower head but no separate shower. The shower/ toilet downRead morestairs is a wet room and very small. The house was very warm and comfortable and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. Hide

Great location close to town. The kitchen and balcony areas especially pleasant. Some great views. If you aren't used to hills the parking arrangement can prove challenging.
