Follow the South West Coast Path from Braunton along the River Taw to reach Crow Point nature reserve (4 miles). Or head north from the beach to reach Croyde (4 miles) and National Trust Baggy Point (7 miles) for panoramic sea views. For a change of scenery, you’re also not far from the edge of Exmoor National Park (16 miles) which is home to the charming twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth (22.5 miles) and an abundance of nature reserves – such as Barle Valley (20.5 miles).
