While away your time in this sleek and characterful, restored 17th-century cottage with original features, like wooden-beamed ceilings, and countryside views. Make memories by the sea with up to five human guests and two canine companions during your beach trips, relaxed pub lunches and cliff-top strolls while staying in the laid-back seaside village of Croyde in the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Inside the property is a neutral-toned open-plan living area with a corner kitchen containing glossy units, an American-style fridge/freezer, plus a dining table next to the bi-folding patio doors. On the other side of the room beneath the contemporary lighting is a plump sofa, two armchairs and a SmartTV. Additional seating can be found in the snug, where you can sink into one of the leather armchairs and put your feet up on the Jute pouffe in front of the wood burner and SmartTV. Also on the ground floor is a utility room. Upstairs you will find a family bathroom plus three bedrooms – a king-size with patio doors which open up onto the terrace, a twin room and another king-sized bedroom. Outside is a rear and front patio with furniture.  A family bathroom comprises a double shower over the bath and WC. The master king-size has its own en-suite with a WC.

Stay in the heart of Croyde with a handful of pubs, cafes and shops within 1 mile of your front door. Stroll through the dunes and go for a swim or surf at Croyde Beach (1 mile). Pack a picnic and set off on an adventure along the South West Coast Path to National Trust Baggy Point (2.5 miles), where you can spot nesting seabirds and soak up the views of the sea. Putsborough Beach and Woolacombe Beach are also nearby (within 4.5 miles) and further afield are Crow Point nature reserve (7 miles) and Ilfracombe (9 miles).

Everything about the cottage was perfect. My only feedback was we experience problems on one evening with the key box which we used to store the key. The code appeared to have been changed, but after calling the both contact numbers (owner and cleaner) the cleaner let us know it often jams and needs hitting to free the mechanism. We eventually manaRead moreged to do this. We didnt receive a call back from anyone to ensure we had successfully got back in. Hide

The house was lovely and the location fabulous. However we felt very overlooked by the main house - it really lacked privacy, both inside the house and in the garden. The garden furniture was fabulous but the garden really really needs an outside shower or at the very least, a garden tap so that you can wash off sandy feet and wetsuits. A real mustRead more for a beach rental. The bedrooms were lovely and the beds very comfy. Our en-suite shower was blocked and we informed the host - we explained it was not a problem and we would just use the other shower but we wanted to give them the heads up to get it sorted out before the next guests arrived. We were then very surprised and somewhat unhappy to find out that someone had gone into the house while we were out to fix it - without our permission. Not sure if this is permitted?? The kitchen was lovely and well equipped. The bathroom towels were small and cheap which was a bit annoying given the cost of the rental. Its these little things that make a difference. We have been to Croyde many times before and absolutely love it there - we will be back, but not to this house. Hide

It would have been helpful to have instruction booklets for the oven and hob. In addition despite being advised on the website that a Welcome Pack would be provided, none was evident.
