A beautifully presented first-floor apartment, a short walk to the village centre and ferry across to Dartmouth, enjoying 180° views of the River Dart from its balcony. Ideal for families or groups of friends seeking solace by the sea, this dog-friendly apartment features an inviting kitchen/diner, spacious bedrooms and instant access to the South West Coast Path.
Kingswear and Dartmouth have a warm microclimate where spring comes early and the magnificent Magnolias bloom from mid February onwards, along with Camelias, Japonicas, purple Periwinkles, primroses and daffodils. Visit in March or April to catch them in their full glory. The micro climate also allows giant agave, tree ferns, palm trees and other subtropical flowers to flourish.
The apartment is set in an elevated position and is accessed via a steep private driveway. Tastefully decorated with an eclectic mixture of traditional and contemporary furnishings, many rooms are flooded with natural light. Let the hours slip by from the comfort of the lounge, perhaps while someone plays the Steinway piano; immerse yourselves in good food and good company in the modern kitchen/dining area; and slip into the freestanding roll-top clawfoot bath in the family bathroom as you prepare to wind down after a long day out. When bedtime calls, drift off to the warming arms of the spacious king-size, double and twin bedrooms. Each one offers plenty of storage space, eye-catching furnishings and beautiful views of Dartmouth and the River Dart. The views from the balcony are best served with an evening cocktail, while brunch simply must be held down in the courtyard garden.
Open the side gate from the courtyard garden onto Prince’s Steps, part of the South West Coast Path, a fantastic way to explore the neighbouring beaches, coves and countryside on foot. Kingswear (500 metres) is a colourful village brimming with independent shops, cafes and dog-friendly pubs, but if you fancy a day in Dartmouth (1 mile), just hop on the village ferry. For a complete change of scenery, Brixham (6 miles) has a vibrant harbour area.
