Enter into the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything you need to cater for the group and a large table to seat everyone. Alternative dining space can be found in the large lounge/diner, which also boasts a roaring wood burner and comfortable seating. Also on this floor is a cosy snug, where you can retreat with a good book. A shower room and utility room complete the ground floor. Two separate staircases lead to the first floor and all five bedrooms (one has an en-suite shower room) and the family bathroom. Outside, a large, enclosed lawn awaits, with space for outdoor games and a BBQ and furniture for al fresco dining. Guests also have access to the shared grounds, which include a beautiful lake.
The market town of Dulverton is full of quintessential English charm, with pretty cottages, cute tearooms, and cosy pubs. Several walks branch away from the town, including a challenging but rewarding trail to the iconic clapper bridge at Tarr Steps. If you fancy a day on the water, head to Wimbleball Lake’s activity centre (9.5 miles), which offers all manner of water sports, including paddleboarding, rowing, and kayaking. There are also some lovely walking and cycling trails that circumnavigate the reservoir, as well as several picnic spots.
