The traditional cottage is set on a working farm, surrounded by the wild and rugged landscape of Exmoor National Park. Sleeping five guests, the property is ideal for families and groups of friends. The cottage sits between the River Barle and the River Exe, providing you with fantastic waterside walks. After a day of exploring, unwind by the cosy wood burner.
The stone barn conversion is decorated and furnished in a traditional style. Enter into the hallway, and kick off your walking boots before heading into the lounge/kitchen/diner. Dine together around the table and come together on the sofas to share stories in the glow of the wood burner. Stairs lead to a mezzanine level, where you’ll find a family room with a double and a single bed, along with an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is located down five steps from the living area and has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. The garden is a haven for local wildlife and has a lawn and furniture for outdoor dining. Guests also have access to the shared grounds and lake (please note, the lake is unfenced and children should be supervised at all times).
There are some beautiful walks nearby, including to the market town of Dulverton (5 miles), via Tarr Steps. Dulverton has a cute array of independent shops, plus several tearooms and pubs. Another of Exmoor’s hidden gems is Landacre Bridge, which is 7 miles away. The Grade II-listed medieval bridge is a popular bathing spot in summer and is also a lovely place for a picnic. You may even see some Exmoor ponies coming down to the water to cool off! Further afield, enjoy day trips to Dunster Castle, the beach at Minehead, and the market town of South Molton (all within 5 miles).
