This delightful, 16th century thatched chocolate-box cottage with wonderful character features is situated in the pretty village of Georgeham close to neighbouring farmland yet only a short walk away from two lovely traditional pubs and only 1.8 miles from Putsborough Beach with its 3 miles of golden sands.

Sleeping six guests, this property is perfect for families or groups of friends. The accommodation is full of charm and character with both low beamed ceilings and latch doors throughout, as befits this 400-year-old country cottage.  The farmhouse style kitchen with its flagstone floor, has all you need to prepare a full evening meal or simply that morning coffee to take outside.  A handy utility and cloakroom are also on the ground floor.  The inviting lounge/diner is light and full of charm with beamed ceilings and comfortable sofas - to snuggle up in front of the wood burner after a day at the beach or watch your favourite movie on the Smart TV.  For evening meals, the dining table offers views across the pretty garden.  Cottage style stairs take you to the first floor, where you will find three bedrooms – a king-size, double, and twin – all with wooden beams and floorboards and traditional sloping ceilings.  The family bathroom is also conveniently on the upstairs floor.

The pretty conservatory is a real sun trap with comfortable rattan furniture and leads to the fully enclosed south facing garden which has a lawn for children and dogs to play plus a two-level patio with furniture for al fresco dining and a seating area to watch the sunset with your favourite drink.

The picturesque seaside village of Croyde is under 2 miles away, known as a mecca for surfing, with a beautiful, secluded beach where you can while away many hours or enjoy strolling around the village shops, craft stalls, tea rooms, and pubs. For walking enthusiasts, the Southwest Coast Path is on your doorstep or venture out to Exmoor National Park (12 miles) and discover the magical moorlands and woodland walks. Adventure-seeking guests can visit Watermouth Bay, only 10 miles away, where you can learn to paddleboard, kayak, or even have a go at coasteering. Just had a lovely weekend break at Kentisbury Cottage which is full of character and so cosy with the wood burner. The village is great with the two pubs both serving local food. It was an ideal base to explore the coastline, hopefully we can come back for longer next time!

Had a wonderful time time in the cottage. Lovely building and perfect area to explore the Devon coastline. Milk from the local fam delicious and great to get fresh eggs just up the road. Have enjoyed Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe. Putsborough is our favourite beach for bodyboarding and sheltered sands, great loos and cafe.
