This cosy cottage sleeping four guests is a lovely little place for a family getaway in the idyllic little fishing village of Shaldon. Just 50 metres from the beach which has beautiful views across the Teign Estuary, this is the perfect spot to base yourself for a coastal break with walks right from the doorstep.
Inside this inviting cottage you’ll find an attractive kitchen/diner with room for four to eat. The kitchen has everything you need for meal prep and there’s a dining table and chairs here too. The lounge is also a very pleasant space and perfect for a relaxing evening in watching a film, whilst upstairs you’ll find a comfortable double room as well as a pretty twin and a shower room. All the rooms in the house are thoughtfully finished with subtle nods throughout to its coastal location.
Set in the village of Shaldon, local amenities are all within a mile where you’ll find places to buy great local produce as well as a café, bakery and several pubs. There’s also a golf course and the Shaldon Wildlife Trust – a small zoo with rare and endangered species. Otherwise you could head to the secluded shingle beach of Ness Cove or take the ferry across to Teignmouth and enjoy a day of swimming, sunbathing and water sports or stroll along the pier. It’s also a great place to get on the South West Coast Path and take in the breathtaking scenery and dramatic cliffs.
In August why not come and join in the fun at the Shaldon Regatta, a nine day event that is over 200 years old and offers fun for all the family.
