Bursting with charming characterful features, this cosy and homely thatched roof cottage is the perfect base for families to uncover everything there is to love about the Jurassic Coastline, from long scenic walks on the South West Coast Path to paddling the crystal waters licking the sandy shoreline.

Characterful ceiling beams and a traditional rustic aesthetic set a warm and cosy atmosphere in the open-plan kitchen/diner that beckons you to whip up a locally sourced family feast in the farmhouse-style kitchen and enjoy peaceful dining around the dining table or at the breakfast bar. Unwind weary walking muscles on the comfy sofa in the downstairs lounge with four-legged friends curled up at your feet or head upstairs to catch your favourite programme on Smart TV in the second lounge, which leads onto a fabulous balcony perfect for soaking up your seaside surroundings. When you can’t resist the call of bedtime, you have four lovingly furnished bedrooms to retire to for a well-earned rest before tomorrow’s adventure. Dine alfresco long into the evening on the pretty patio as children and canine companions let off some steam exploring the enclosed lawn. WIFI is available at the cottage.

Situated along the Jurassic Coastline, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Seaton boasts everything you’d expect to find in a Victorian seaside resort, from windswept walks with breathtaking sea views on the South West Coast Path (less than half a mile away) to a mile-long pebbled beach backed back a beautiful esplanade (1 mile) where you can hire kayaks or paddleboards to explore this rugged coastline from its best watery angle. Get back to nature and spot a variety of wildlife at Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve 1 mile away or head along the coast to discover the timeless charm of nearby Lyme Regis (8 miles) and Sidmouth (9.5 miles).

The cottage is a good size, 2 lounges, nice kitchen diner for families, lovely little enclosed garden, nice sized balcony and super central, however it all felt a little unloved and shabby round the edges. Dusty, windows full of cobwebs on the inside and a bit neglected outside. Which is a real shame because we loved the cottage and its central posRead moreition. Hide

Property is lovely and really conveniently located for our needs. Bring your own saucepans if you are planning to cook as we only found one regular sized pan or really big pans. We have stayed here before so we were prepared. Couldnt find any outside bin or recycling boxes/bags so rubbish built up in the kitchen. This hasnt put us off though andRead more we would most certainly stay here again. Hide

Sagewood is furnished to a really high standard with an array of comfortable sofas and beds. We were two families and had plenty of space for children and adults to do their own things. We had a few weather related issues and the agent was prompt to support us.
