The kitchen has low character ceilings and has a dining table too, perfect for quick snacks or breakfast, and is equipped with everything you’ll require to make delicious meals. The ground floor is completed with a WC and a utility room. Head upstairs to see a family bathroom and three bedrooms. There are one doubles, a twin room and a king-size with an en-suite, all bright, airy and refreshing. The house is spacious and well located. The upstairs is nice and the downstairs grew on us but its very old house so there are a lot of sloping floors so may not be suitable for elderly. Everything was fine and it's a nice house, it just felt like it was definitely treat like a business rather than someone really caring about what people would neeRead mored when going on holiday. Not necessarily kitchen equipment and clean sheets, as that was available, but things to know: - There's no information on the area e.g. supermarket, local pub etc. Fortunately, we knew the area but it was a real miss by the property owners. - As mentioned before kitchen ceiling is low and it's disappointing that knowing this, the owners haven't added padding (my husband is 5 9 and banged his head a lot). - If you arrive at 5, and want an evening meal, put oven on straightaway as it takes a while to warm up ( its an Everhot Aga style). There is a manual, but who wants to read a manual when they go away! A few notes from owners would have been good, but there aren't any. Also, there is no induction frying pan...again a miss. - There is information on recycling but they don't tell you which day bins get collected so you don't know when to put them out. - Additional extras would have been desired, lights on for arrival ( its dingy when you first go in), one pint of fresh milk, some shower gel/bath foam. For the money, you would expect that would be a small addition and easily rectified and makes arrival after a long journey nice. - Other properties we've stayed at, we get courtesy call to see if everything ok. - If you aren't taking a dog you will notice the sofas smell of dog. We didn't mind too much as we have a dog but feel there should be a spare set of covers so they can be clean when you arrive. - Also, if you are there in the colder months, just be aware that you will need to take kindling etc for a fire as they don't provide much. - I'm sure we read there was a childrens play area- there isn't. Overall, its a nice house but we won't stay again. Hide

Comfortable cottage. Nice private courtyard and shared garden which the dogs loved. Maybe a frying pan compatible with induction hob would be useful addition. Cottage fitted out to a very good standard and was a great base for exploring. Good to have off street parking.

Comfortable, well equipped and beautifully renovated cottage with off street parking. Located near to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, it's the perfect place to explore the area. Be aware of the low kitchen ceiling and people with mobility issues may find the windy stairs a bit challenging.

So bad we moved out after two days When we arrived at 5pm , we found that heating timer had been switched off and each radiator turned down. No logs left to at least get fire going ( as is common in most other houses) The oven is really difficult to use ( and a number of pans provided dont work on induction hobs). We worked out that it needed threRead moree hours to heat up before it could be used so plans for a meal that night were scuppered Internet was down that after 2 days of chasing marsdens we were told couldnt be fixed for another 4 days Kitchen is deadly for anyone over 5 10 as two low beams right over table and by fridge - a serious accident waiting to happen Asked for more duvets that they sent a mail ( no internet!) to say they couldnt source Hide

Cottage is very roomy and comfortable and in a good location only a 10 minute drive from Woolacombe Beach. Dog loved the large garden area.. I would say that if you are over 5ft 8 , be prepared for the very low ceiling in the kitchen. If you are over 6ft, you may end up with a crick in your neck.

Absolutely lovely. Beware of the low ceilings in the kitchen, if you are tall you will be liable to hit your head several times during your stay.
