Take a glorious holiday in North Devon.  This spacious and recently renovated property is situated in the charmingly named Westward Ho!, a village with plenty to keep everyone busy, sandy and happy. You’ll have room for two families or a mixed group, and you can even bring your dog.

The social spaces in this house are on the ground floor. There’s a cosy lounge with a large bay window where everyone can sit together, enjoying a film or a board game, and then you can head through the archway to find a chic kitchen/diner. This, in turn, has a door to the garden, which you can prop open as you cook for a gentle breeze. The ground floor is completed by a utility room with a WC. Visit the first floor to find two bedrooms; a king-size and a flexible room which can either be arranged as a twin or a super-king. There’s also a family bathroom. Continue to the second floor for a similar arrangement, with a further family bathroom, king-size bedroom and a flexible twin/super-king. You’ll have the use of two enclosed gardens, one to the front and the other at the rear. They’re surrounded with a variety of fences and walls to keep dogs and children safe. There’s rattan furniture for relaxing, a picnic bench for outdoor dining, plants and palm trees, and finally an outdoor shower to hose off some sand.

When you stay here, you’ll have incredibly easy access to the sandy, dog-friendly Westward Ho! Beach, which is less than 500 metres away. You can swim, surf and paddleboard, and hire equipment and take lessons if you like. Take some time to explore the Northam Burrows Country Park, 1.5 miles, a SSSI with marshes and lots of wildlife or book to play golf at the Royal North Devon Golf Club (the oldest in the country).

Holt Waves is a large house in a good location almost directly backing onto Northam Burrows and a short walk to both the sea and the centre of Westward Ho! The house was generally well-equipped and the bedrooms were large with good quality bedding. The wi-fi worked well but the TV seemed to be set-up exclusively for guests to sign on to their prefeRead morerred apps, such as Netflix & BBC iPlayer, which was a bit odd. The two parking spaces are great as Eastbourne Terrace is a very narrow road but note that only one is accessed via a dropped kerb. This is a comfortable property but don't expect high-end. We also had some housekeeping issues which was disappointing. Hide

Lovely big house, great location for the beach and coastal walks! Wine on arrival was a nice touch! Also really well equipped, would definitely recommend.

Good house for a large group in a good location to walk in to westward ho and access surrounding areas by car. The house is well equipped and clean with off road parking for 2 cars.

There were 6 adults and one big dog in our 5 night stay. Two had to work from home during some of the stay and found no problems with the internet and holding TEAM meetings. There are desks in three of the bedrooms. The house was well equipped, very comfortable and spacious. The location was excellent for our walks across the field and to the bRead moreeach.
