Gather a group for a getaway in the beautiful Devon settlement of Combe Martin. This property would be well suited for a family who likes to travel with the grandparents and dogs. You can easily get to a beautiful sandy beach, botanical gardens or just relax in the cottage and enjoy each other’s company.

This property is all on the same level, with a few steps in the back to get to the garden. You’ll find a welcoming lounge, warmed by a built-in wood burner, where you can watch films, play games, or just have a drink and a chat. To one side you’ll notice sliding glass doors which lead to a dining room/conservatory, which is full of natural light and has a picnic-style table for everyone to sit and eat together. There’s a kitchen, compact and nicely equipped for making meals and picnics. The final shared space is the family shower room, with a shower, sink and WC. This cottage has three bedrooms: a double, a king-size and a twin room with bunk beds. Each is simply decorated with wooden touches: restful for a good night’s sleep. The rear of the property is a garden, enclosed by a wooden fence, and set up with a table, chairs, and a BBQ for sunny afternoons.

Combe Martin is a lovely little village which really springs to life in the summer. There are plenty of pubs, cafes and fish and chip shops around, and you’ll be just over 0.5 miles from the sandy beach. For quick dips, you’ll be about 50 metres from the River Umber. Head 1.5 miles inland to visit Combe Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, a zoo with botanical gardens, a fossil museum and animal experiences, including the opportunity to swim with sealions!

This was a really lovely place to stay. Great accommodation with a lovely enclosed garden and in a great location. Within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants / cafes. With many places to visit in North Devon only a short drive away. We will definitely be staying again.
