This seafarer’s retreat on the South Devon coast provides an exceptional base for coastal adventure with family or friends. Situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’ll love hiking, bike riding and sightseeing in this spectacular part of the world. It’s just 17 miles from the riverside destination of Dartmouth, and the vast Dartmoor National Park is 15.5 miles away for inland excursions. The property itself is an enchanting base with its own enclosed garden and space for six guests to feel truly at home.
The property is all laid out on a single-storey with three bedrooms, one king-size and two doubles, and there’s one en-suite bathroom and one family bathroom just a few steps from the front door. Indoor/outdoor living can be enjoyed from the lounge/diner, two connected rooms each offering French door access to a lovely balcony space. Loungers and a bistro set on the balcony make space for relaxed drinks in the morning or evening, whilst the outdoor dining table at the bottom of the garden is the place to be for al fresco mealtimes. Stepping back indoors, the cushy seating set opposite the TV/DVD invites you to spend the evening relaxing with a favourite film on.
Hope Cove is a spectacular Devonshire village with two sandy beaches, Mouthwell Sands and Harbour Beach (both 0.5 miles), both with seasonal lifeguards for safe swimming and surfing days in the summer. There’s a village pub offering refreshments and a quality restaurant on the water’s edge. The village is perched on the South West Coast Path, a long-distance route for hikers or cyclists. Follow the clifftop walkway up to South Milton Sands (1.5 miles) to admire crystal waters and the instantly recognisable Thurlestone Rock. In the opposite direction, Salcombe (4.5 miles) is well worth a visit, especially for those who wish to get out on the water on a sailboat, kayak or SUP board.
