Plucked straight from a Devonshire postcard, this chocolate box cottage offers an idyllic retreat for holidaymakers in the south of England. Set in the AONB village of Croyde, just 1 mile from Croyde Beach, you’re well-positioned to enjoy surfing, swimming and sunbathing on the sand throughout the summer months and brisk walks along the never-ending South West Coast Path during the off-season. The village is equipped with whitewashed ice cream parlours and tearooms for Devonshire cream tea and other refreshments, an ideal end to any beach day before heading back to your retreat. The cottage itself is a traditionally appointed space filled with comfort and charm, and sleeps six guests.
The beautiful ground floor is laid out with a lounge, a separate snug, a kitchen/diner and a separate utility room with a downstairs bathroom. Both the lounge and the snug feature Smart TVs, ideal when everyone wants to watch something different of an evening, however, we’re sure you’ll all enjoy cosy nights spent by the wood burner in the main living room. When it’s time for bed, venture upstairs to find three generously spaced bedrooms each sleeping two guests. At the back of the house, you’ll find a tiered garden with a fully furnished patio for outdoor relaxation.
As a surfer’s paradise, you won’t be surprised to find a surf school neatly positioned on the golden sands of Croyde Beach. This is a great place to sign up for beginner lessons or just to rent equipment and tackle the waves on your own. Another exceptionally popular Devon beach is Saunton Sands, just 2.5 miles away. This beach is backed by the UNESCO-protected Braunton Burrows Biosphere Reserve, a great place to hike and spot rare flora and fauna. Also close by is Ilfracombe (8 miles), a scenic harbour town with eclectic local businesses to peruse on an afternoon out.
