For shopping and eating out, head to the historic town of Bideford (3 miles). The town has a good range of independent restaurants, and also hosts a regular market where you can pick up local goods and produce. For picture-postcard scenery, head to the idyllic fishing village of Clovelly (10.5 miles), known for its cobbled high street, flower-covered cottages and picturesque harbour.
