Situated on the South West Coast Path and with views over Bucks Mills, lies this tranquil three-bedroom home. Spacious and with the beach on your doorstep, it’s an ideal coastal retreat for a family plus two dogs wanting tranquillity and relaxation.

The ground floor blends traditional charm with home comforts, creating a haven for families. The heart of the home is the open-plan kitchen with its warm travertine stone floors and array of appliances – perfect for whipping up delicious feasts. Gather for memorable meals around the sociable dining table and afterwards retreat to the snug room and catch up on some holiday reading. From the ground floor, a wooden stairway leads to the first floor and a large lounge. Let the kids enjoy a family film on the TV, or light the wood burner and sink into the sofa and chairs. In warmer weather, you’ll want to push open the patio doors and let Fido roam in the garden. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find three bedrooms on this floor. Choose between a king-size, super-king-size zip-and-link, and double bedroom. All the bedrooms are light and airy with pleasant furnishings. There’s also a good-sized bathroom on this floor. Outside, children will love the den-like garage with its comfy seating and table tennis while the patio with its garden furniture and valley views is the perfect spot for soaking up the sun.

Walk to the dog-friendly beach (300 metres) and explore the rock pools and waterfalls or pull on boots and discover scenic coastal and woodland walks. The fishing village of Clovelly (5 miles) has plenty of pubs and restaurants while surfers can ride the waves at Westward Ho! (9 miles). Alternatively, hop on a boat from Bideford (9 miles) and enjoy a trip to Lundy Island spotting seals, dolphins, and puffins along the way.

What a warm and welcoming cottage, felt like a home from home. Well equipped, quality bedding, good sized and spacious. The walk down to the beach is via a steep footpath that will be challenging for less abled persons. Well located for activities in and around the area. Would highly recommend.

Myself and 4 friends had a wonderful mini break at Barnacle. It was such a lovely relaxing place to stay. The house is beautifully decorated and so well equipped. The beds are incredibly comfortable and everything including the bed linen is such good quality. It just seems everything has been thought about. The house is 2 mins from the sea..we sawRead more dolphins and shooting stars.Owners were so friendly and told us about some good local walks. I would highly recommend this place. Ive stayed in lots of holiday homes but there is something quite unique and special about this one. Hide
