The area is known for its landscape of forest, moorland and quaint market towns, all divided up by miles and miles of farm and meadowland. It’s an idyllic destination and this retreat is close to the River Taw and a couple of hundred metres over the river sits Head Wood, the perfect spot for a morning stroll. For dinner out, shopping opportunities and other local attractions, head just 3 miles south into the pretty, hilltop, market town of Chulmleigh or 10 miles north of South Molton. Local taverns and inns are dotted throughout the local countryside too, while bigger attractions in the area include RHS Rosemoor, Halsdon Nature Reserve (both 10 miles) and the award-winning sandy beaches of the North Devon coast (18 miles).
