Sharing the same charm and character as the rest of the ground floor, the first king-size bedroom, downstairs, is a haven of tranquillity, whilst the second king-size bedroom, upstairs, accessed via the paddle staircase from the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, offers a peaceful escape steeped in character, boasting a charming round window and sloping ceiling. From sunrise to sunset, the enclosed courtyard is an oasis of calm; dine alfresco with a glass of something chilled or catch some sublime melting sunsets from the comfort of the hot tub.

Known as the gateway to Exmoor National Park, South Molton (5 miles) comprises a market square lined by several independent boutiques with fronts that remain practically untouched by time. Sample the area''s best local produce at the market in the main square held twice a week or head to Barnstaple, 13 miles away, to discover a contemporary high street and historic market lanes. Keen walkers can explore the magical moorlands and woodland walks of Exmoor, 5 miles away, or discover the traffic-free Tarka Trail to journey to the North Devon coastline; follow the estuary to reach the sandy dune-backed Instow Beach, 22 miles away.

Absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommended to anyone looking for that perfect country escape. Tom and Jackie were absolutely lovely and it was such a relaxing break with 5 star touches. The hot tub was amazing and the beds were very comfortable.
