Enjoy light-filled interiors and far-reaching countryside views as you unwind with friends or family at this two-bedroomed abode. Just 8 miles from Tiverton, it has a chic open-plan living space, an enclosed garden and – perfect if you’re holidaying with four-pawed pals – a dog-friendly inn on the doorstep.

One of a small cluster of contemporary properties in the pretty hamlet of Nomansland, this detached house is a fabulous choice for a battery-recharging break in the beautiful mid-Devon countryside. Step into the hallway and there’s a handy cloakroom to one side; beyond, the open-plan living space has two sets of patio doors delivering uninterrupted field views and filling the room with light. Two comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and wood burner set the scene for laid-back lounging, while to the rear of the room the Shaker-style kitchen is a lovely space in which to cook; low-level units create an uncluttered feel, which is enhanced by a round dining table and bentwood chairs. When it’s time for bed, two restful rooms are on the first floor – one has a king-size bed and the other has twins. Ensuring there’s something to suit everyone, the modern bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower. The property stands on its own plot, with private off-road parking for two cars to the front and, at the rear, an enclosed garden with a patio, lawn and extensive views across a patchwork of green fields.

Make time to explore your surroundings – there’s a traditional country inn within 300 metres and a farm shop a little further along the same road, while the village of Witheridge (2 miles) is home to local stores and refreshment stops. Head 8 miles in the opposite direction and you’ll reach Tiverton, home to a historic castle, a thriving pannier market and the Grand Western Canal Country Park, where you’ll find horse-drawn barges, cycle routes, walks and picnic spots.

A lovely house set in countryside surroundings that offer a super relaxing holiday setting. We stayed over Christmas and the house was decorated with a Christmas tree and lights which was a lovely touch. We found the kitchen to be well equipped, a selection of games available along with an ironing board and iron should you require it during your Read morestay. The beds were super comfy with great views of the surrounding countryside from the double bedroom at the back. The wood burner created a lovely warm atmosphere which added to the Christmas feel. The Smart TV was perfect for two teenagers to find entertainment along with the requisite WiFi! All in all, a wonderful house to spend a week in Devon. Hide

Almost brand new house with underfloor heating. Really helpful owners who live next door. Lovely view across a rural valley. If you get a clear night make sure to look at the stars.

We absolutely loved our stay in this quaint village. The accommodation was pristine clean, the view wonderful, the owners accommodating and helpful, and the local areas stunning. The garden overlooks picturesque fields, several which are available and perfect for dog walks, whilst others give you a lovely view of cows grazing and general farm lifeRead more. The garden itself is fenced, with metal fence mesh behind it to ensure your pooch won't take themselves on walkies without you. Inside you have all you need, with WiFi, Netflix, all your expected utilities, heating (and a log burner), a powerful shower and a good sized bath. An upstairs and a downstairs toilet also makes things a lot nicer for a family. The local pub is but a few minutes walk away and the people there are very friendly and offer good quality food. Tiverton is the closest town we used and is around a 20 minute drive, is a nice place to visit, and have a really nice view of the river running through it via a bridge and a walkway running next to it. After having several holidays in a row that were more hustle and bustle, this was literally and figuratively a breath of fresh air and has made us put Devon at the top of our list of holiday destinations next year! Highly recommended, and from the communication we've had with the owner, it is a place they genuinely want to pour their love and passion into. Hide
