In the months of May through to November why not attend one of the many local events, The Dartmouth Music Festival, Dartmouth Shakespeare Week, Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta and the Dartmouth Food Festival. 

Inside the property, a light and airy nautical theme blends seamlessly with exposed beams and spectacular views, beckoning guests to slip into holiday mode. Gather in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has been decorated with soft furnishings and cosy touches for the ultimate stay. Your top chef will be impressed with the facilities in the kitchen when whipping up supper before serving it at the table overlooking the river. If you can tear yourself away from the views, guests can make use of the outside space, where you''re sure to enjoy a tipple and the sounds of the tide. Choose from three nautical bedrooms, including a twin, double and an en-suite king-size bedroom, where seaside tones and crisp linens flow through all. Enjoy your first cuppa of the day on the lawn while you watch the kids play.

Lace up your walking boots and stroll along the river''s edge to the maritime town of Dartmouth. Refresh yourself with a Devon cream tea at a cosy cafe, try crabbing off the pier, or dive into the town''s renowned watersports. Alternatively, explore Castle Cove (3 miles), where you can paddle the coastline aboard canoes. A visit to this special area wouldn''t be complete without discovering one of the most beautifully located fortresses, Dartmouth Castle (3 miles). Offering stunning views out to sea, this is a gorgeous spot for a picnic with the family. Stunning location despite access issues. The property feels unloved - no 'welcome pack' - some fresh milk in the fridge is always appreciated! Broken toilet roll holders, lounge windows don't stay open, especially in the wind. This is important on warm sunny days as no blinds. Master bedroom curtains are like thin white sheets giving zero light redRead moreuction. No dressing table or mirror for my wife. The mattress was super soft & not comfortable. Pedal bins were old & awkward, often requiring lid lifting by hand. I mention the 'small' things because, when you are paying 1500 for a week, you expect a welcoming environment & quality fittings & features. Hide

Brilliant cottage in a wonderful setting. The steps down can get a tad slippy if wet, but once in the cottage all was excellent.

The beacon boathouse is a stunning property in an amazing location. We stayed here 2 years ago and were so excited to return. The additional sofa was much appreciated and provided extra room for the six of us to relax together. We would definitely book this property again and recommend it highly.

The location was superb and we enjoyed our visit to Dartmouth. We were lucky that the house adjacent was vacant as the garden sits behind that house and letting the dog out would have been embarrassing each day. Privacy would have been an issue with no blinds or curtains in the kitchen and dining room , which are both overlooked. What a lovely house! The view is definitely the wow factor- its amazing The location is perfect. Very central and easy to walk everywhere. The house is clean and modern with lovely big and comfortable sofas which are perfect for river watching. Great location, for a Dartmouth stay with lots of space to chill with the most wonderful views across the inlet to Kingswear. The access steps are steep, so your quads will definitely get a work out. A little dated inside and not that well equipped (quality over quantity), appears to need a little TLC

Every one of the 50 steps down (and back up again of course) to this property was worth it to get the best views in Dartmouth. A lovely holiday home.

We had a fantastic stay at Beacon Boathouse, the views were spectacular over the River Dart and out towards the castle. The property was a short walk to town and the car ferry across to Kingwear. However, the steps were extremely steep - if you have mobility issues I wouldnt recommend.

The view from the lounge is stunning, and the sound of water lapping against the walls is very relaxing. The house is well appointed and that's a small shared garden (with river views) The two downsides are 1) the 50 or so steps between the house and the road (but it is Dartmouth and most houses have steps) and the amount of glass in the livingRead more room makes it pretty warm when the sun shines. There's 2 hours of parking on the road but there's also a permit to park in manor road car park which is a 10 to o 15 mom walk away. Hide

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Beacon Boathouse - a really special waterside location with panoramic views of the river Dart through exceptionally wide dual-aspect windows. We spent most of the week just staring out at the view and all the activity on the water, and have already booked our next visit!

This is a wonderful property within walking distance of the town. The views are spectacular and the property is well equipped. This is the perfect home from home in Dartmouth.
