Just 1.5 miles away is the tranquil beach at Wonwell Sands, a tidal bay with glorious stretches of golden sand at low tide.

On arrival, follow the pretty 40-metre path through landscaped gardens to reach your temporary abode, where a few steps take you to a large deck terrace. Step through the French doors into the light-filled open-plan living space, with elegant wood-panelled walls and a corner sofa for curling up after a day out exploring. The double bed is tucked away neatly, and there’s a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need for whipping up tasty dinners. A circular dining table sets the scene for leisurely meals. There’s also a shower room at the back of the property, plus handy extras like a coat cupboard, washing machine and boot space. Outside, the front decking area is furnished with seating – perfect for lazy breakfasts, al fresco lunches or evening drinks as you revel in the garden’s peaceful setting.

Locally, head down to Wonwell Sands for a paddle or picnic (1.5 miles) where you can also join the South West Coast Path for excellent walks. A lovely studio in a quiet & peaceful location, it was great to be able to use the outside space to relax. The studio was very well equipped and all in all a stylish, restful place to spend a few days walking the coast path. Thank you.

A lovely secluded spot at the end of a garden. Surprisingly spacious inside and lovely to be able to help ourselves to the homegrown veg - thank you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved our week long stay at The Garden House. The location was so peaceful and the accommodation very comfortable. We were able to park our car opposite the entrance to The Old Forge which was very helpful. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of clean towels. We appreciated the milk and bottles of wine and beer that were provided for Read moreus in the fridge by our hosts. The kitchen is well equipped and we appreciated the tea, coffee and sugar which were provided. They also provided basic cleaning materials and tea towels. We especially loved the decking and garden, and being surrounded by tranquillity. Our hosts were very attentive, and eager to provide us with anything we needed, including some freshly picked vegetables from their own garden, but who respected our privacy the rest of the time. We visited some nearby towns and beaches, both on foot and by car and would love to return sometime. Thank you Phillip and Anne Hide
