This property is a wonderfully situated house in the picturesque village of Kingswear, with stunning uninterrupted views over Waterhead Creek, the River Dart and across to the Britannia Naval College from many of the rooms. There are fabulous, decked areas which have ample room for dining and relaxing with sublime views, as well as the top-floor balcony with the same exceptional views, meaning guests won’t ever want to leave.
Inside, the whole property – arranged over three levels – is beautifully presented and includes a self-contained flat on the top floor with wonderful panoramic views – ideal for grandparents or couples holidaying with larger groups. This flat has a king-size bed, its own kitchen and living space as well as an en-suite shower room. Back on the ground floor is a stylish and open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner. The kitchen itself is really well equipped and there is a breakfast bar as well as a dining table for eight. Large bay windows in the living space flood the area with light and there is also a handy utility room and WC. Up on the first floor are three lovely bedrooms – two king-size rooms and a bunk room plus a family bathroom. As well as the balcony from the top-floor flat, there is also a small, decked area at the rear that catches the morning sun and is a perfect place to sit with a coffee or there are sun loungers to the front.
The property is in a great location to explore the surrounding countryside, beaches and nearby towns of Brixham and Torquay. It’s also a great base if you love the water as there are launch sites close by for both paddleboarding and kayaking. The village of Kingswear is within walking distance of the property and from here you can hop on a steam train to the iconic seaside town of Paignton with its fun pier, well-renowned zoo or, if the weather is good, you can even head to the water park for slides aplenty. For more serene activities, why not explore Agatha Christie’s former home and gardens at Greenway (6 miles), enjoy a scenic boat ride on the River Dart or head out to sea for a spot of dolphin watching.
