For the art lovers, Damien Hirst's Verity is a must-see in the heart of Ilfracombe (3.5 miles), as are its quaint quayside restaurants and ice cream parlours. With so many coastal areas to choose from, it goes without saying that walkers are well catered for too, with the scenic South West Coast Path trailing along the cliffs.
