This cosy two-bedroom cottage is located along the breathtaking Hartland Heritage Coast, putting you in the heart of one of North Devon’s most dramatic and unspoilt landscapes. It’s wonderful for friends or families who love walking, with the South West Coast Path 0.5-mile walk away, accessible via neighbouring fields. From here, sweeping cliff-top views stretch out towards Lundy Island. The nearby village of Hartland (2 miles) is handy for local amenities, with three welcoming pubs, coffee shop, post office and convenience store. The property is positioned between Bideford (14 miles) and Bude (19 miles), making it an ideal base for exploring both Devon and Cornwall.

Hartland Carnival is held every year in August. It is a week-long community celebration that typically spans the first or second week of the month, concluding with a Grand Procession and festivities in The Square

Inside, the cottage is mostly laid out on one floor, with a warm and inviting feel throughout. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is wonderful for socialising with fellow guests, with cosy sofas gathered around a wood burner and Smart TV. Two steps lead up to the kitchen and dining area, where you can prepare easy holiday meals and sit down together around the table. Along the hallway are two peaceful bedrooms – a king-size and a double – both styled in calming tones, plus a family shower room. Outside, enclosed gardens to the front and rear enable you to make the most of the rural surroundings and uninterrupted dark skies, with panoramic views and outdoor seating. You’ll also have a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining. Private parking for two cars makes departures and arrivals straightforward.

Nearby Clovelly (5 miles by car or on foot via the coastal path) is well worth a visit, with its iconic cobbled streets and picturesque harbour. Hartland Quay (4.5 miles) has striking rock formations and dramatic Atlantic waves, while Hartland Abbey (3 miles) provides a more relaxed day out, with beautiful gardens, woodland walks and coastal views. For beach days, head to Westward Ho! (14 miles) and Bude, both of which also have sea pools that are free to use.

Comfortable cottage in a lovely position. Great for coastal walks and for exploring the coast farther afield in spite of the bad weather

The cottage was very clean and well equipped. A little isolated but in a beautiful setting. Pubs in nearest village are very good. Dont forget to bring a hairdryer with you.

Lovely very rural location - ideal for people who want some peace and quiet. The cottage was very comfortable and great for our dog as it had an enclosed patio/garden area. We enjoyed our stay there despite the disappointing weather.

We were a family of 4 (2 kids 10 and 14) we really needed a relaxing holiday and some time away from the hustle and bustle of London, Wow! This little barn conversion was perfect and a great location to explore the Nth Devon coast, with 5 mins we were looking over the sea. We had some amazing walks
