We loved our stay at Gora House. We were 3 adults, 2 children aged 9 and 12, and a dog. The size of the house and layout were perfect for us. We were lucky to have hot sunny weather and so were on the beach nearly everyday. The location is great within easy reach of the town and shops just a few minutes away. There is a park next to the property toRead moreo which the children enjoyed. If you have moderate beach stuff and a trolley you can walk to the beach but we had lots of surf boards and beach kit so ended up parking the van each day in the beach carpark but if you want to nip back for lunch or forget something its not too far. The hot water system and showers were amazing. After a day on the beach all three showers could be used at the same time no problem. 3 en suites was a bonus! And, the towels were of excellent quality. The decor and spec is modern and clean and easy to maintain. Adequate provisions for our late arrival and the tea, milk and biscuits was a nice touch. The rose bush in the patio area gave it a real cottage garden feel and the outside tap was so useful for washing through beach gear. We visited Lee Bay and Barricane beach nearby too but there is loads to do if the weathers not so great. Would highly recommend this place and its reasonable if sharing with other adults for the time of year. Hide

The interior photos gave a true representation of the size and space of the accommodation. Past experience of wide angle lens photos have led to disappointment on arrival to discover the accommodation has shrunk! Gora House is an historic and interesting property and being in such a convenient location is surrounded by other buildings. This may notRead more be immediately apparent from the photo of the exterior. However, the lovely rose fenced outside terrace area where we had breakfast was quite secluded and we didn't feel overlooked. The welcome pack with quality products was very much appreciated. All three bedrooms and their ensuites lived up to their description. Having three ensuites was a main criterion for choosing Gora House as well as there being no hills to climb up to it. The beds were so comfortable that we meant to ask where they came from, as well as the linen and duvet! The location was great as it was a 5 minute walk to the beach hut we hired for the week and a couple of minutes walk to the various restaurants and shops. Over the weekend one of the pubs had live music playing until late but I think you have to expect this when you are in such a central location & it was only one night. Hide
