From the hallway step into the inviting lounge, where reclining sofas are gathered around a Smart TV and wood-burner-effect electric fire – ideal for relaxed evenings at any time of the year. The kitchen/diner includes all the appliances you’ll need for creating holiday feasts, including a microwave with air-fryer function and a dishwasher, plus a dining table where four guests have plenty of room to gather. The first floor is home to a tranquil twin bedroom and a charming bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower, and on the top floor you’ll find the king-size bedroom, tucked under the sloping, beamed ceiling, as well as a snug with bean bags, Smart TV and games consoles. Do be aware of the steep, cottage-style stairs. At the back of the cottage, leading off the lounge, is a private courtyard with attractive planting in raised beds, atmospheric lighting and furniture for drinks and meals alfresco. For small or medium cars (such as a compact SUV), private, off-road parking is provided; otherwise, there is on-street parking 100 metres away.
Discover the amenities of Shaldon within 200 metres or so, while its charming small zoo, the golf course and Ness Cove Beach are all around 1 mile away. A daily foot ferry will take you across the estuary to Teignmouth, where you’ll discover long, sandy beaches, a Victorian pier and restaurants serving fresh seafood.
