A popular local inn with great food and a beer garden is 1 mile away in Abbotsham, and the seaside resort of Westward Ho! with its shops, cafes and sandy beach is just over 1 mile away. Return to your cottage to laze in the dual-aspect living room or the pleasant courtyard garden.

This handsome cottage has been sympathetically renovated to create a welcoming holiday home with modern comforts whilst retaining many of the original features of the building. A spacious hallway has a lovely flagstone floor and gives way to a handy ground-floor WC. There’s one bedroom on this level too, an en-suite double with a TV. The large kitchen/diner is well equipped and leads out through French doors to a private courtyard with old stone walls. Garden furniture and a BBQ make this a lovely spot to eat al fresco. Access to the adjoining meadow is often available but it is dependent on seasonal usage. Finishing the ground floor is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The first-floor lounge has exposed beams, a TV and fabulous views over the surrounding countryside. There are three bedrooms on this floor as well: an en-suite double with a TV, a twin and a bunk room. A family bathroom serves these rooms.

This part of the county has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are many wonderful walks including the long-distance South West Coast Path which passes nearby. A public footpath from the farm leads to Abbotsham Cliffs where you can enjoy spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean. The pretty fishing village of Appledore with its narrow winding lanes and historic quayside is 3.5 miles away, and there is a links golf course (2.5 miles) and an excellent outdoor activities centre (2 miles) within a short drive. The port town of Bideford is 3.5 miles away where visitors can stock up on holiday necessities. Local attractions including The Big Sheep (1.5 miles), The Milky Way (8.5 miles) and RHS Rosemoor (11 miles) are all close to hand.

A gem. A lovely, quiet and peaceful place to stay. With plenty of space for 6 of us plus the dogs. Having an en-suite bedroom downstairs was ideal for my mother-in-law who has mobility issues. Plus another en-suite and separate bathroom upstairs, and separate wc downstairs. Very, very comfortable bedrooms. There is a slight bend in the stairs whichRead more may be narrow to those with mobility issues, and to be aware the beams are a little low but that is due to the type of property. Pleasant lounge upstairs although we rarely used it, making use of the wonderfully large, family kitchen space with the dogs. Dogs settled well which speaks volumes. There are a a few leisure items to do in the property, and books to read, including a large quiz book to spend some fun, friendly, competitive times! Pretty little courtyard garden with steps down from back door, included table, chairs & BBQ. Ample space for our 2 cars to park with only a few steps to walk. Slight incline to the property. Cars could go up to the door for loading/unloading. The property isn't far from pretty Westward Ho! seafront making for a couple of pleasant evenings. Property owners left leaflets regarding other places of interest/amenities not too far to drive to. We took a drive to Exeter a small city which is cobbled in places, it's a little more out from the property but not overly far. It is a working farm so need to be prepared for some noise but this didn't affect our stay at all. Owners left a well informed folder of what we needed to know including phone numbers. Recommended on all levels. Hide

The accommodation is advertised as dog friendly but it isn't! Only the downstairs is! No one takes their dogs on holiday only to leave them in a kitchen. The place wasn't very clean and the property too close to the owners who can observe everything from the outside which feels like an invasion of privacy. If you park outside the property, you Read moreare told you are not covered for any insurance. Fortunately we have our own on our cars but still... Two members of our party struggle with mobility and asking for permission to park outside the property felt like a problem and an inconvenience. However this ask was accommodated. Hide

A great size for our 9 family members ( x3 families) and 2 dogs. A lovely welcome cream tea on arrival. Dog notices are a bit disappointing, as the living area is upstairs where dogs aren't allowed. The propery, we felt would benefit from a refresh of its facilities and furniture. The early morning ( 5am) peahen squawk was a bit annoying, who wRead moreants an early wake on hoilday? Our evenings were met with the sound of helicopters as refuelling took place a stones throw away, again, a peace destroyer and annoying for all. Towels were past their best, and bath size rather than shower would've been appreciated. A lovely sized property, but just needs some maintenance and updates. Hide

Good location, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Only a small courtyard for outdoor sitting and no view from this space. Lovely view from upstairs sitting room. 2 large double rooms but the twin and bunk bed rooms are small.
