This cute cottage, with a courtyard and large shared grounds, is sitting in beautiful countryside with views of Codden Hill in the small hamlet of Harracott. It’s all on one level and suits friends or family looking for a peaceful place to stay, with two bedrooms (a king and a flexible twin or king).

The cottage has been tastefully decorated with lots of thought for your and your pup’s comfort. Pop over the cute bridge, go in through the front door and into the beautiful kitchen in the open-plan living space, where there’s plenty of space to cook tasty meals. Sit down to share them and a glass of vino together in the dining area then kick back on the comfy seating and catch up on your favourite series on the Smart TV in the lovely, light lounge area. The two pretty bedrooms in calming hues, a king and a twin, and the contemporary family bathroom are all off the living space. Sit outside in the courtyard at the rear on balmy days and give your four-legged friend a good run in the field next to it. Wander in the woodland, explore the grounds and relax in the gazebo.

Explore Barnstaple (5 miles) away and Instow (8 miles), which has an estuary beach where the pup is welcome for walkies. Head to Exmoor National Park for stunning moorland walks (9 miles) or walk up Codden Hill (4.5 miles) for far-reaching views of Exmoor and Dartmoor. Catch a ferry to Appledore from Instow to pop to the museum and art gallery. Spend the day on the beach at beach at Westward Ho! (11 miles), Saunton Sands (12.5 miles) and Woolacombe (18 miles).

We weren't very impressed with this cottage, especially the health and safety aspect of the microwave, which was located above the cooker. We had to stand on a stool to reach it. There weren't enough work surfaces in the kitchen or bathroom. However, the garden was lovely but we couldn't sit outside due to the wet weather. Unfortunately we won't beRead more returning. Hide

Absolutely fabulous cottage with surrounding gardens and wooded area. The large enclosed field area behind the cottages is a dream for dogs who love to run free, no worries of an escape. The scones clotted cream and jam were excellent. Both owners were very friendly and helpful.
