One of Appledore’s oldest properties, this charming cottage has been lovingly updated to offer a delightful blend of period features and contemporary flair. Warm up beside the roaring wood burner, cook up a storm in the bespoke kitchen, dine alfresco in the garden or enjoy a lazy morning in bed beneath exposed beams. If you can drag yourselves away, stroll the cobbled streets of Appledore, browsing its quaint cafes, galleries and shops along the way.

Prepare delicious family meals in the bespoke galley kitchen, which, together with the sunny dining room next door, opens onto the garden. For those rainy afternoons and chilly evenings, gather around the wood burner that sits within a large inglenook fireplace in the lounge to enjoy a board game or film. When the sun is shining, head outside to make the most of the large walled garden, which includes a sunny dining spot, lawn area and romantic courtyard.

A lovely house and garden for a family holiday. Good location. Overall it was clean and comfortable but lacking a few essential items ( wine glasses and mugs! ) at the time of our visit. We would return and recommend it.

Great accommodation. Bedrooms are very spacious and welcoming. Bright and airy upstairs. Downstairs is lovely with the morning sunshine shining through the windows. The enclosed garden offers privacy and safety for young kids or the family pooch!

A beautiful house in excellent location close to many amenities and other towns in a lovely part of Devon. There was a few concerns in the house which were passed on to the letting agencies. We had a lovely holiday with our family and may be back again soon. Thank you.

The general standard of the house is very dated and shabby with very basic bathrooms, the equipment is just adequate, we wouldn't book it again as we feel it is over priced given the comments above. But the location is perfect.

The property is well located, although parking can be a pain. Not the easiest place to find so I would advise not arriving after dark. The garden is truly dog secure which was good. Beds comfortable but living room furniture not so good. Property generally clean but a bit more attention to detail needed. Some maintenance required, especially externRead moreally, but also internally in places, log burner door seals need replacing. Over all it's good but could be great. Hide

Whilst in a great location with plenty of character and a lovely garden, the property is tired, e.g large patches of flaking paint & damage in several rooms, broken light and lock on bathroom, dishwasher didn't work fully. Cleaning standards were poor, e.g. cobwebs in multiple rooms, dust build up under sofas, crockery needed re-cleaning. Missing eRead moreveryday essentials, e.g. cafetiere, lacking wine glasses and mugs for every adult. No welcome pack, e.g. instructions for rubbish and recycling. Hide

A great location in the centre of Appledore. Great coffee shops, pubs and a fabulous deli near by. We caught the boat over to Instow which was fun. Lots of crabbing opportunities and a small play park near by. It was useful to be able to get into the property a bit earlier than stated. We all had ample space in the accommodation (7 adults and a dogRead more and a baby). Kitchen utensils were a bit limited. Only 4 wine glasses and no cafetire if you like proper coffee. The decor is a bit tired. Hide
