This peaceful waterfront property in the fishing village of Appledore offers serene views of the River Torridge and features an enclosed decked balcony, allowing for privacy enjoyed by the water. Though located amongst the many attractions of this hugely popular area of North Devon, Appledore itself is a beautiful place. The village has plenty of picturesque narrow streets for exploring as well as pubs, restaurants, shops and a ferry all within walking distance.

The river vista is immediately noticeable upon entering, with uninterrupted views from the entire rear of the property. Subtle touches like deck-style chairs by the dining table and a coal-effect electric fire mean the minimalistic lounge/diner is pleasant and comfortable. Days can start happily with coffee by the window, and end with dinner alfresco on the balcony with the lights of Instow twinkling across the river. The kitchen is well-equipped and bright with appealing touches such as pastel tiling and exposed beams. A neat and stylishly tiled bathroom also connects to the central lounge, with a shower over bath and WC. Both double bedrooms feature seaside tones and ornate double beds, with one bedroom having access to the private balcony.

You won’t have to travel far for a wonderful day out with so much available nearby. The seaside village of Westward Ho! and its adjacent sandy beach is only 2 miles away for some livelier seaside amusements. Families can have fun at The BIG Sheep amusement park 5 miles to the south, or you might prefer to catch the ferry across the estuary to the village of Instow to wander the beach or visit a craft workshop.

The Old Brewhouse 2 is a delightful holiday apartment with spectacular views across the ever-changing estuary to Instow. The view from our bed was delightful.

This flat was lovely, well equipped and spotlessly clean, the view over the river Torridge across to Instow is stunning. The large sitting-room window onto this constantly moving picture is fascinating. Parking can be difficult but we managed to find a space within walking distance every day. Fantastic location. Due to the rain we spent a lot of time looking out of the window and the view was amazing. Plenty of lovely places to eat in Appledore.

I recently stayed for 4 nights at this waterfront apartment and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The views across the estuary were superb especially when the tide was in. Being so close to the water was wonderful and waking up in the morning with the gorgeous views was lovely. The apartment was handy to the village and I visited Clovelly, Croyde and LyntonRead more and Lynmouth which are well worth going to. I was able to park in nearby streets for free so avoided having to pay car parking. Superb stay. Hide

Lovely stay but unfortunately the weather didnt play ball. The view over the estuary to Instow was lovely. We parked in the car park near the Seagate Hotel and it cost 30 for the week and is probably a 10 minute walk from the apartment. Some great restaurants in Appledore and a great little pub - The Champ.

We stayed at the same apartment in 2011 and loved it, on return we found the apartment was still as wonderful as it was previously.
